CorePlatforms was co-founded by Julian Swart in 2017, after he moved from South Africa to settle in the UK. His South African business, that he founded in 1999 continues to run. The South African operations centre around ISP operations, and they continue to offer cloud and corporate connectivity solutions to clients of all sizes across South Africa.
Having a presence in South Africa and the UK has given us an advantage when consulting with businesses in both locations. We also consult with UK companies looking to branch out to South Africa, explaining the technology landscape and the potential hurdles that are quite different to what is encountered in the UK.
The UK operations are more focussed on developing middleware software platforms. We define this as software that often bridges the Gap between systems. This usually leads to less repetitive tasks and a streamlined operation that uses all its data to drive productivity.
Its core product called ‘DASH’ operates as a control panel between systems and the synchronising of data from multiple feeds. The software features core modules that handle integrations into QuickBooks, SMS, WhatsApp, Email as well as many more. We then develop custom modules to cater for the clients’ individual needs.
At the moment a large part of that development is based on the events industry and caters for the event planning calendar, event planning board, staff and resource management, stock prediction, parttime staff pay runs, and accurate event costing and expense management.
We are also passionate about accessing data metrics that are currently not available to the client, this often means that we inhouse develop IOT devices that can access this data and return it to “DASH”. An example of this is the temperature monitoring devices we have deployed to monitor our clients fridges. This solves two issues, we are able to immediately alert the client if the fridges go outside of he allowed parameters, and we log the data and create the reporting required for the UK’s Food Standards Agency.
Core to our business is creating value in all our relationship’s. We focus on client retention more importantly than growth. In South Africa we have clients that have been with us for over 20 years, and this even includes international NASDAQ listed companies.
